Editorial standards

How we research, write, and review.

ImplantAuthority publishes consumer-education content for patients considering dental implants. These are the rules our editorial team operates under.

Sourcing

Every numeric claim, clinical statement, or guideline reference cites a primary authority — the American Dental Association (ADA), American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), or the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Peer-reviewed clinical research and Cochrane systematic reviews are cited where available. We do not use competing commercial dental sites as editorial citations.

Medical review

Articles are drafted by professional health writers and then read by a licensed dental clinician before publication. Reviewers verify clinical accuracy, flag outdated claims, and ensure the article does not constitute personal medical advice. The byline on every article identifies the writer and the reviewer (or notes that medical review is pending).

Update cadence

Every article is re-read at least quarterly. The byline shows the most recent review date. If a cited source publishes a material update mid-quarter, we re-pull and re-stamp the affected article early.

No paid placement

ImplantAuthority does not accept payment to include, exclude, or favor any dentist, practice, or product in our editorial content. Future dentist subscription tiers will not influence what appears in articles. Affiliate relationships with financing partners, where any exist, are disclosed via the site-wide Affiliate Disclosure.

No medical advice

Our content is informational. It is not a substitute for evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment by a licensed dental clinician. We frame guidance as “studies suggest” or “patients typically” — not as personal prescriptions. Patients should speak with a qualified dentist about their specific case before making treatment decisions.

Corrections

Material factual errors are corrected promptly and noted with a dated correction line at the top of the affected article. To report a suspected error, email editorial@implantauthority.com with the article URL and the specific claim.
